    • He married Hawise de Mortimer, daughter of Ralph de Mortimer, Seigneur de Saint Victor-en-Caux and Milicent.

      He gained the title of Lord of Holderness in 1087. He was styled as Count of Aumale in 1087. In 1094 he was chosen by Robert de Mowbray to replace King William II, if his attempt to dethrone the king had succeeded. In 1096 he went on Crusade with Duke Robert.2 In 1104 he took the part of King Henry I against Duke Robert. In 1118 he supported Baldwin, Comte de Flandre and the French King, in tehir invasion of Normandy on behald of William Clito, son of Duke Robert.
