      Record for Marlaina Anne Weisl
      Marlaina Anne Weisl, 61, of Fort Worth, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

      Marlaina was born Oct. 28, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Kenneth and Catherine Weisl. After moving to Schenectady, N.Y., as a child, she graduated from Burnt Hills-Balston Lake High School in 1967. She led a very active life, living in eight states throughout her life before setting down in Texas.

      Waco became her home in 1994, and she wasted no time becoming active in the community. She was a founding member of the Central Texas Soccer Referees Association, which allowed her to become a prominent member of the Central Texas soccer community. Marlaina was very active in the Waco arts and culture scene, as she was a member of the Waco Symphony Council and regularly attended performances throughout the Waco area. After her youngest son attended TCU, Marlaina became an honorary Horned Frog and loved to wear purple even in the heart of Bear Country.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; and her step-mother, Margaret Weisl.

      She is survived by her husband, Noel Amos Dodge; brother, Alan J. Weisl; sisters, Colleen Weisl and Loreen Weisl; sons, Shane Wesley Nicastro, Nathan Gregory James Bosdet, and Troy Matthew Weisl Dodge; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the .
